Daniel Altmaier vs Daniil Medvedev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

For the second successive year, Daniil Medvedev faces Daniel Altmaier in the grass court Halle Open. This is a quarter-final match and fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev will be going all out to repeat the win he had here last year. Our prediction is he will do so in straight sets.

Either second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime or unseeded Frances Tiafoe will be faced in the semi-finals.

Medvedev beat Altmaier 6-3 6-3 last year and he leads the German 2-0 in previous meetings.

This has been a good tournament for Medvedev in the past. He has twice been runner-up, most recently last year. This is his fourth quarter-final in the Halle Open. So far this week, he has beaten Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Terence Atmane without dropping a set.

Medvedev was seventh in the latest ranking list, 74 places above his opponent.

 Before this year, Daniel Altmaier had never made it past round one in the Halle Open in five visits. The wild card has finally won here and has defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets and Hubert Hurkacz in three. He had to come from a set down to beat Hurkacz.

His first round win ended a run of three successive defeats. 

Last year saw him play four grass court matches, winning just one.
