The Czech Republic and Norway will face off in their second match at the 2026 European Men’s Handball Championship on Saturday. The Czechs are in third place in Group C while the Norwegians lead the group standings. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The Czech Republic kicked off their 2026 Handball Championship with a 42-28 loss to defending champions France. They were down 20-14 at the halftime break.
Petr Siroky finished as Czechia’s top scorer, netting six goals off seven shots. Tomas Mrkva made five saves from 28 shots, and Jan Hrdlicka recorded six saves from 24 shots.
Notably, Tomas Piroch suffered an injury, and Jan Uzek was sent off in the last match. The Czechs have now split their last 10 games, five wins and five defeats.
Meanwhile, Norway opened their campaign emphatically, taking a 19-11 half-time lead against Ukraine before romping to a 39-22 victory - their biggest win in Euro Championship history.
Patrick Anderson and Alexandre Blonze led the team with seven goals apiece, while goalkeeper Torbjorn Bergerud anchored the team’s defence with nine saves from 23 shots.
The Norwegians have won three of their last 10 games, but only two of those were friendlies. This is the first time these sides will meet since 2013.
