The Czech Republic will play Denmark in the Men’s Ice Hockey tournament in the Winter Olympics for the right to play Canada in the quarter-finals. Read on for our prediction of who makes it to the next stage.
It was third position in Group A for the Czech Republic. After falling 0-5 to Canada in their opening game, they beat France 6-3 and then fell 3-4 in overtime to Switzerland. That last game was all important, meaning they face a much tougher rival in Denmark rather than Italy at this stage.
That said, they put seven past Denmark when they played in both 2025 and 2024, meeting in the World Championships on both occasions. Denmark netted two last year and four the year before.
The Danes have come out of Group C. They fell to Germany in their opening game, lost to the USA second time up before winning against Latvia in their final group game. That gave them third spot in the group.
It is going to be a tough task for them to make it past the Czech Republic, particularly given their recent struggles against that side, but they will take some confidence for beating Latvia.
