Sheffield United continue their long search for a first Premier League win of the season when they travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Blades have only picked up two points from their opening 16 matches, putting them on course for the worst ever English top-flight points tally. The lowly sum, of course, anchors them to the bottom of the table. Palace also had relative struggles in recent weeks, a run of five winless matches putting them in 14th place with 19 points from 16 games. Three of those five matches were stalemates that finished 1-1; the other two were against Liverpool and Aston Villa and ended in heavy defeats. Palace are winless at home in their last four league games. In total, the Eagles have only won two of their eight league games at Selhurst Park this season. 

Sheffield United have lost ten of their last 11 Premier League matches. They failed to win their last 20, a run extending back to July. On their travels, the Blades were unable to win their last 14 league matches, drawing a blank in eight of those games. While Chris Wilder's side has regressed, their low points tally is not a fair reflection of their quality. A look at their record this season shows that the vast majority of their defeats have been narrow with 11 of the 14 losses decided by one goal. This terrible year behind them, the dawn of 2021 could inspire a change of mentality from Sheffield United. Four of the last five matches between Palace and Sheffield United featured only one goal. We suggest backing under 1.5 goals for this clash.
