After two tough games, Crystal Palace will be hoping to resume winning ways when they host Leicester on Sunday afternoon. The visitors go in search of a third league win in as many games. While the likes of Sunday’s opponents have often stolen the headlines, Crystal Palace have quietly gone about their business this term and have crept into a lofty 6th position. Roy Hodgson’s men certainly haven’t been the most flamboyant, but they’re tough to beat, which is why they’ve lost only three matches. Only the current top five have lost less games than the Eagles. On the road, Palace haven’t been amazingly effective, but they’ve been difficult to break down at home. In fact, big-hitters Man City are the only team to walk away from Selhurst Park with all three points this term. Again, they’ve not scaled the heights offensively, scoring only four goals in five matches in front of a home crowd, but Sunday’s hosts have done an excellent job of preventing their opponents from building up a head of steam, as they’ve conceded just three goals.

No team in England’s top division has conceded less home goals than Palace this season. Shutting out the likes of Norwich, Villa and Everton may not be overly impressive, but few teams will restrict Man City to two goals and relatively few chances, so Palace are not to be taken lightly. Unfortunately for Palace, Leicester come into this match in fine scoring form, which is not something that can be said for the hosts. The Foxes notched three in the cup during the week, while they showcase their full attacking repertoire when scoring no less than nine goals against Southampton just over a week ago. Playing away from home hasn’t fazed Leicester this term. Brendan Rodgers’ men currently have the fourth-best away record in the division. Moreover, like Palace at home, they’ve defended well on their travels, conceding just five goals in five matches, shipping more than once in just one of those five. Such numbers bode well, especially as the visitors have faced teams such as Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea on the road.
