Crystal Palace are only five points from safety. That's just about the only bit of good news you can write about Palace who are yet to earn a point or score a league goal this season. They have lost all seven league games and conceded 17 goals with nine conceded in the two games away to the Manchester clubs. With Christian Benteke out injured it's a puzzle where that first league goal is going to come from. So far three home league games have seen them lose to Huddersfield 3-0, Swansea 2-0 and Southampton 1-0 and those are the kind of fixtures they should be getting some points from not losing them all. If looking for kind things to write about Palace, they have lost to four of the top seven in the table but it's likely to be five after losing to Chelsea. The away side are fourth in the table but six points behind the top two, virtually seven because of a vastly inferior goal difference. Chelsea need to bounce back from that 1-0 home defeat by Manchester City in their last game before the international break and it must worry them that they have failed to win three of their home league games so far this season. It's a better story on their travels with wins at Spurs, Leicester and Stoke scoring eight and conceding just two. That's five straight away league wins and eight of their last nine, all facts that will scare Palace to death. Go for Chelsea to win this on a -1 handicap.
