Middlesbrough and Coventry City are set for a massive clash in the final round of the Championship, hosted in Coventry. The hosts start this match sitting sixth, three places ahead of Middlesbrough. Read on for our prediction.

Only two places are up for grabs as far as the playoffs are concerned. One of those is occupied by Coventry City, who are on 66 points. As things stand, they are in pole position and only need a win to guarantee they go into post-season.

That may not happen if they fail to improve on their recent results. Frank Lampard’s side lost twice on the bounce, with the latest one 1-0 against Luton Town, leaving a dent in their confidence.

Middlesbrough have been overcome by pressure in their recent matches, the reason they’ve remained outside the top six. Michael Carrick’s side has managed just one win in the last five matches.

Last season they came so close yet again but failed to command a top-six finish. There are fears the same will be the case again in Carrick’s third season in charge. Boro have 64 points, and only a win gives them a chance.
