Coventry City vs Brentford Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Prediction
These two clubs are at opposite ends of the table but have one thing in common. Both 20th placed Coventry City and Brentford - who are second - have lost their last two league games. Coventry City were promoted from League One last season but begin the weekend only three points above the relegation zone. To make their situation more difficult, they have playe a game more than their rivals. City have had two losses in the last week, being beaten at Cardiff City and then at home by league leaders Norwich City. They have gone five league games without a win, earning just two points. Coventry are playing their home game at Birmingham this season and have won five, drawn six and lost four. Only one of the last seven home league matches has been won. That was a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday who are in the bottom three.
Brentford had been on a long unbeaten run until last weekend. They had gone 21 games unbeaten in the Championship and that had taken them to the top of the league. However, they lost at home to Barnsley on Sunday and then went down 2-1 at QPR on Wednesday. They led 1-0 at in-form QPR but conceded two goals in the last 18 minutes. Those two losses were against sides who are in winning form at present, the same can't be said about Coventry City. Brentford had gone ten away league games without defeat before their midweek loss. They had scored 11 goals in their previous four away fixtures. A bet on them to return to winning ways this weekend looks a good one to make.
