Matchday 14 in the Brasileiro Serie A sees a bottom of the table clash with 20th-place Coritiba hosting 19th-place America Mineiro. It’s been a disastrous start to the 2023 campaign for both clubs who each still remain on single digit points with the first third of the season already in the books. A win in this match would see them leapfrog their opponents who are just one spot above them with a two-point lead. Coritiba are fresh off their first win of the league season after a 2-1 away victory over Goias on Monday. However, they are coming off an excellent 1-0 home win in the Copa do Brasil over Corinthians in their latest outing. The result extends their unbeaten run at the moment to three games. They were finally able to keep a clean sheet after an abysmal defensive performance on the year so far. America MG leads the league in goals conceded at 29. The visitors are giving up an average of 1.73 goals per game on the year which rises to 1.96 on the road.
