Corinthians are eighth in Serie A and four points behind sixth which would qualify them for the next Copa Libertadores tournament. They are unbeaten at home this season in the league with four wins and three draws to date. However, their progress in the league is being hindered by the fact seven away games have only produced four points and at the weekend they lost 3-1 at Sao Paulo.  All the goals in that defeat came in the second half with Corinthians getting a consolation goal in the 91st minute. At home goals have been a bit scarce with just 11 scored in seven matches and the last six have all had under 2.5 goals scored in them.

Their opponents are third in the table, six points behind the league leaders Flamengo but they aren't the best on their travels with eight points from seven games this season. Their last two away league games have only produced a single point and if they want to mount a serious title challenge, away form has to be improved. Seven away games have seen just eight goals scored and the last five have all had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Not surprisingly the tip here is for under 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
