Corinthians play host to Coritiba in the fourth round of the 2020 Brasileirao Championship in midweek. Neither side has gotten off to a good start and both may see this as a good opportunity to get a first win of the campaign. Corinthians, 16th after two games, had their first game, against Atletico GO, postponed, so belatedly kicked off their season with a 3-2 defeat at Atletico MG. They steadied the ship somewhat with a credible goalless draw at Gremio. Coritiba, bottom of the twenty-club division, have yet to pick up a single point, losing all three of their matches. Two of the defeats have occurred at home and one away. Although they are yet to score a goal, Coritiba can take some consolation from the fact that their defeats have been narrow, each by a one-nil scoreline. Promoted from Serie B at the end of last season, Coritiba weren't prolific in the second tier either, averaging 1.26 goals per game. 

Coritiba have struggled against Corinthians for a number of years, failing to win any of their previous 12 meetings. They have, at least, scored in eight of those matches. Corinthians have won seven of the last 12 meetings, a reasonably impressive record that pales in comparison to their home record against Coritiba. At home, Corinthians have won eight of their last nine games versus Coritiba, leaving little hope for the newly-promoted strugglers this time around. This is Corinthians' first home match of the Serie A season but they're unbeaten in six home games in all competitions. Coritiba are in a rut, trying to end a run of five straight defeats in all competitions. We can't see it happening at Corinthians. Back the home side to get their first win of the season.
