This match between Club Brugge and Real Madrid could have been a showdown to decide second spot in the group. However, the Belgians failed to win away to Galatasaray and Real Madrid have joined PSG in the last sixteen. PSG have already won the group, all that is at stake here is whether third placed Club Brugge can see off the challenge of Galatasaray for the Europa League spot. The home side have had their chances in this group but after five games are still to win one. Three of their games have ended in draws and that includes wasting a 2-0 lead in Madrid. They needed an injury time equalizer just to get a point in Turkey. That could be so vital when it comes to the Europa League qualification place. Brugge are unbeaten in their last five matches and seven points clear at the top of the Belgian league. However, they are yet to score a home goal in this group and may well struggle again in this game.

Real Madrid struggled early on in this group only earning one point from their first two games. They have rallied well though to get seven points from the next three and secure qualification for the knock-out stages. Six of their eight points in this group have come from wins over Galatasary including a 6-0 home win. The other point came at home against PSG but should have been three as a 2-0 lead was lost. Madrid are in good form with no losses in their last nine league and cup games. Four of their last five away games in the Champions League have been won. Madrid can be backed to get the win here leaving Brugge hoping Galatasaray don't beat PSG.
