On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain continue searching for their elusive first UEFA Champions League trophy when they face Club Brugge away. The French giants have come close in recent seasons, following up a final appearance in 2020 with a semi-final showing in 2021. Adding Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, among others, will further boost their pedigree - and they may need it in a group also featuring RB Leipzig and Manchester City; not that they should take Club Brugge lightly. Brugge were in a tough group last season too - one that featured Dortmund, Lazio and Zenit - and were unlucky to miss out on the round of 16, picking up eight points over the course of six matches. It was the third time in a row that Brugge finished third, and the Belgian champions want to break the cycle in their toughest group yet. In order to do that, Brugge will have to make the most of their home fixtures. Yet, against PSG, it's easier said than done; the Parisians travelled to Belgium to hockey 5-0 in 2019.

Six of Brugge's last seven UCL matches featured over 2.5 goals. They often throw caution to the wind at the Jan Breydel Stadium, getting mixed results (one win, four draws and four defeats). Strangely, PSG are on a three-match losing streak in the UCL, but they suffered those defeats at the hands of Manchester City (twice) and Bayern Munich (once). Yet PSG's UCL campaign is remembered for the brilliant Kylian Mbappe-inspired victories in Munich and Barcelona. With the quality that PSG have added, more memorable away wins are incoming, starting in Bruges. Back the away side to score over 2.5 goals.
