Two struggling teams in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) face off as Chippa United plays hosts to Swallows in Mdantsane. Both sides are placed low in the league standings with one point separating them. Hosts Chippa are 14th with five points and Swallows are 13th with six points after seven rounds of matches. Chippa have lost four of their last five matches coming to this game and one highlight about them is that they are struggling in attack. They’ve scored just three goals so far in the league. They have one win this season and are just two points above the drop zone. They haven’t scored in three of their last five matches, and ahead of this game they suffered a 4-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs. At home, they have scored more than a goal in just one of the last five matches and tree of the five have ended in under 2.5 goals.

Swallows are also on a five-game winless run and have failed to score in four of those five matches. They are the lowest scoring side in the PSL with two goals in the last seven matches. In the last four away matches, Swallows have scored no goal and three of them have ended in under 2.5 goals. They have no win in their six meetings with Chippa United; Swallows have lost three times and the other three ended in draws.
