Chelsea will play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the continuing fight for the top four spot this Saturday, when the Premier League goes into Round 27. One point separates the two sides, with Chelsea being fourth with 41 points and Tottenham fifth on 40 points. The two sides have scored same number of goals and conceded almost the same. Chelsea are coming straight from a defeat by Manchester United and will want to redeem themselves at a time when the team and manager Frank Lampard are under fire. They meet a Tottenham side marshalled by a man who knows Chelsea, and Lampard too well, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out. While Spurs take to this game a run of one loss in their last nine, Chelsea have not had it easy, and from the last five matches, they have managed just one win. The Blues have no clean sheet in their last five matches and have conceded twice in three of the five matches and they have failed to score twice. On three occasions, however, they have managed to score twice. At home, in the Premier League, matters have not been any rosier; Chelsea have three losses and just one win in the last five. They have lost to Bournemouth, Southampton and Manchester United while they conceded very late to draw with Arsenal in four of their last five home matches. Their only win at home came against Burnley.

Tottenham will go to this game right after their loss to Leipzig in the Champions League but have enjoyed a good run in their recent matches. They will miss key forwards in Harry Kane, who is out injured and Son Heung-min joined in with broken arm in the loss to Leipzig. The loss to Leipzig was just their first in nine matches and will be looking to regroup well for this game. They may not have redeemed themselves against Leipzig but one fact is that Tottenham have a great fighting spirit, as seen in their two earlier matches, coming from down to beat Aston Villa and Southampton. In three of their last four matches, they have scored two or more, but they will carry to this game just one clean sheet in the last five. Just like Chelsea, they have no problem scoring, but defending has been a bit questionable. Away from home, they are unbeaten in four, though three ended in draws. They have no clean sheet in their last 10 away matches but they have just one loss in the last five away matches in the Premier League. They have failed to score twice in the last five away league matches but in the three they have scored, it has been two goals or more. Chelsea won the first leg meeting 2-0, making it three straight wins against Spurs. In their last six meetings though, each side has won three. In the last 10 meetings between these two sides, none has ended in a draw, with Chelsea winning six and Tottenham four.
