Chelsea vs Southampton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Chelsea have been struggling for form of late but won 2-0 at Tottenham on Sunday. They are fourth in the Premier League and host Southampton who are 17th, having climbed out of the bottom three last weekend. Chelsea’s win over Tottenham has left them four points clear of fifth placed Sheffield United. They have won three of their last five games in all competitions and that stat also applies to results from their last five home league matches. This is a game that they should win but with recent home losses to West Ham and Bournemouth we can’t be 100% sure that will be the case.

Southampton beat Aston Villa last weekend and that saw them avoid being in the bottom three at Christmas. They are another of the many inconsistent teams in the Premier League. The Saints may have won three away league games this season but have also lost four. That win at Villa ended a run of five away league matches without a victory. They may have won three of their last five league fixtures but all were achieved against the current bottom three. Chelsea can win this game but don’t place too high a stake on them.
