Chelsea will be gunning for their second win in preseason when they face Premier League rivals Manchester City. Ahead of this warm-up match in Ohio, we take a look at the match numbers and offer a prediction.

This match will be viewed as a warm up to the two teams’ first meeting in the new Premier League season. Chelsea will be hosting City on 18th August. Back to this friendly game, City are going in search of their first preseason win.

After their loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup, City have played three friendly matches. They lost to AC Milan and Celtic before drawing 2-2 with Barcelona in the most recent game. Notably, City have conceded at least twice in each of their three preseason matches, but also scored two or more goals. Combined with competitive matches, eight of their last 10 outings had over 2.5 goals.

While Manchester City are going to their final friendly match, Chelsea still have two before embarking on their season. This will be their fourth preseason game and the Blues will be targeting their second win. They started off with a 2-2 draw with Wrexham before falling 4-1 to Celtic.
