It's only the second weekend of the new Premier League season, but this is the biggest game we've had to date. Chelsea host Liverpool and both teams will want to build on their opening weekend victories. Chelsea got their season off to a good start with a 3-1 win away at Brighton and Hove Albion. New signings Timo Werner and Kai Havertz both put in good performances and they will be key players for Chelsea this season. Ben Chilwell didn't play on Monday but he is expected to make his debut for the Blues this weekend. That could be a vital inclusion for Chelsea whose defence and goalkeeping has often been a worry for them. Home form last year had a fair few highs but a lot of lows too. Losing to teams like Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham isn't going to win them the league. They did beat Manchester City, Tottenham and Wolves in the dying weeks of last season. We will learn a great deal from this game, namely can Chelsea get a lot closer than the 33 points they trailed Liverpool by at the end of last season.

Liverpool played Chelsea on four occasions last season. They did the league double over them, won the Super Cup on penalties and lost at Stamford Bridge in the EFL Cup. The champions won their opening game but it was a struggle at times to defeat Leeds United 4-3. They have signed midfielder Thiago Alcantara this week, it's unlikely he will start this match though. Liverpool had a strong away record last season, it did dip a bit in the final weeks though with losses at Watford and Manchester City but the title had already been secured by that stage. Liverpool will again cause plenty of problems for their opponents and may well get another win. A bet on both teams to score in this game looks the best bet to make.
