Ajax Amsterdam women host Chelsea women in the Women's Champions League quarterfinals first leg at what is expected to be a packed Johan Cruiyff arena on Tuesday night. The Dutch side became the first Dutch team to qualify for the Group Stages of the tournament this season and they boast a number of top players including goalkeeper Regina van Eijk, and midfielder Sherida Spitse, who will unfortunately be suspended for the first leg in Amsterdam. The Dutch side come into the game in excellent form, winning all their last five including a 3-0 away win at table topping FC Twente in the Women's Eredivisie. This is a young team who rely heavily on the goals of Romee Leuchter, who has 9 goals in 9 Champions League games for Ajax this season and who also count 16-year-old United States starlet Lily Yohannes among their squad. 

In contrast, Emma Hayes' Chelsea are a vastly more experienced team and one that has not lost any of the four previous quarterfinal ties they have contested in this competition. They come into the game in good form, having lost just one of their last five, a 1-0 cup defeat to Manchester City which they avenged just a week or so later by the same scoreline. They produced a stunning display at the weekend against their title rivals Arsenal, going in 3-0 at half time thanks to a goal from Lauren James and a double from Sjoeke Nusken, only allowing Arsenal to score a late consolation in a 3-1 win . They are unbeaten in Europe this season and will be hoping to take something back from this game into the second leg at Stamford Bridge at the end of the month.
