Inter Miami will on Wednesday go into the second of three straight away matches looking to stay at the MLS summit. In this Eastern Conference encounter, they face sixth-placed Charlotte who have been somewhat solid at home lately. The prediction here is that this will be a tough outing for either side, in consideration of their recent runs.

Charlotte may have suffered defeat in their last outing, falling 1-0 at Houston Dynamo, but they come here on a strong footing. That defeat was their first in five matches, having won three of the previous four games. It was also the first time they failed to score in six matches.

The hosts may not be the best scorers around but there can’t be much to fault them defensively, and especially when they are playing at home. Dean Smith’s side hasn’t lost at home in the last six matches, keeping five clean sheets. They are also the second best defensively across the two conferences.

Inter Miami have coped well without their international players currently at the Copa America. With three straight wins, they’ve managed to hold on to top spot in the Eastern Conference. They currently have a two-point buffer following their 2-1 win over Nashville last time out.

Unlike Charlotte though, they haven't been great defensively. Gerardo Martino’s side comes into this game as the best scorers across the two conferences, but the same can't be said of their defending. In six straight matches, they have failed to keep a clean sheet.

Twice in their last five league matches, Inter Miami conceded three goals. However, they scored two or more in seven of their last 10 matches. Their away form is also great as Inter Miami come to the Bank of America Stadium unbeaten in seven away games. In those seven away matches, they posted six wins. Inter Miami haven't lost an away league game since falling 4-0 to the New York Red Bulls.
