Matchday eight in the A-League will see Central Coast Mariners take on Adelaide United at the Industree Group Stadium on Friday morning. The Yellow & Navy are seventh in the league standings while the Reds are third after six games. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

With the AFC Champions League now done for the year, the Central Coast Mariners will be looking to improve their league standing, having made a fairly underwhelming start to the season. 

The Mariners won their last league match 2-1 against Sydney but that was just their second victory of the campaign, while they have drawn three and lost one of their remaining four games. 

Notably, in four league home games this season CCM have won just once and failed to score in each of their first three matches. 

Meanwhile, Adelaide United are experiencing a very positive start to the season, now on 14 points after six games, just four points off league leaders Auckland. 

The Reds notched up their fourth win of the term by beating Newcastle Jets last week, and are currently one of only two teams in the top flight still unbeaten this season. 

The visitors have won all three of their away league games this term, scoring eight goals across the period while conceding five. However, they have failed to beat their upcoming opponent in their last three attempts.
