It was back in July that Celtic began their European campaign. They failled to make it into the group stages of the Champions League but managed to do so in the Europa League. They had to make a good comeback to qualify and would have been knocked out if Leipzig hadn't conceded a late goal at home to Rosenborg. Celtic lead the Scottish Premiership by five points and have won their last seven games without conceding. Only Red Bull have beaten them in seven home games in European competition this season.

Valencia also began the season in the Champions League but in the group stages. They finished third behind Juventus and Manchester United and only won one of their three away games. They have had a tough fixture list in recent weeks with three games played this month in quick succession in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, Their last three games have all been drawn but their away form is poor at present with no wins in their last nine. Their manager says his team is "exhausted" and top defender Gabriel is out injured. Go for Celtic to get a first leg lead here.
