Celtic are set to kick off their season with a Champions League game in the second qualifying round, against Danish Side Midtjylland. Ahead of the game, Celtic lost their friendly match against Preston North End, in what was also new manager Ange Postecoglou’s first match in charge. The Scottish giants will hope for better times and the approval of up to 9000 fans for this game should give them the needed push. Celtic have failed to score in their last two matches but that defeat was just their first in six matches, while they have three clean sheets and three wins in that run. Both sides have scored in four of Celtic’s last eight matches. The home fans will have a big role in this game and Celtic will want to make it count as they have a good run at home. In their last eight home matches, they’ve lost just once and won six. They’ve failed to score in only one of their last 10 home matches.

Midtjylland on the other hand opened their domestic campaign on a losing note, falling 2-1 at home to OB. That result marked the fourth straight game they failed to keep a clean sheet, having played three preseason friendly matches. They’ve conceded eight goals in the last four matches and will need a big improvement defensively to take on Celtic in Glasgow. Conversely, they’ve managed to score in each of their last 11 matches across all competitions and in five of their last six matches, they’ve managed two goals or more. In seven of their last eight matches though, both sides have scored and in these two sides’ recent form, we can expect the same trend.
