Real Madrid start the weekend in sixth place in La Liga, seven points behind the leaders Barcelona. They've had an inconsistent start to the season and not surprisingly that led to a change of management. Since that happened and Santiago Solari was put in temporary charge, their fortunes have changed with three wins, 11 goals scored and a trio of clean sheets. Midweek saw them win 5-0 at Viktoria Pizen and now they travel to Celta Vigo looking for some points to boost their position in the table. They have gone four away league games without a win and lost the last three including a 5-1 hammering at Barcelona. However, it now looks as if their problems are easing, perhaps the players just didn't want to play for the previous boss. They have no losses in their last four league visits to Celta winning three of them.

The home side are 11th in the table and only five points above the relegation zone but just three behind Real Madrid. They have drawn their last  two games, last week coming from 2-0 down at Betis to lead 3-2 only to concede an equalizer three minutes from time. Their season started brightly with seven points from their first three matches but it's all gone a bit wrong since. They have just one win in the last eight and at home have two wins, three draws and a defeat but have recorded a win against Atletico Madrid, though that was when in much better form. Real Madrid appear to be back in form now and can get the win in this match.
