Casper Ruud vs Matteo Berrettini Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mutua Madrid Open

Casper Ruud has reached his third semi-final on clay in a row. He takes on Matteo Berrettini in the Madrid Open semi-final looking to add him to his list of recent scalps. Ruud is on his way to the top 16 in the world after a series of impressive performances. He made it to the last eight in Acapulco earlier in the year, being beaten by Alexander Zverev. Revenge could be earned for that loss in this tournament as Zverev plays Dominik Thiem in the other semi-final. On clay this season, Ruud has reached the Monte Carlo and Munich semi-finals and now again in Madrid. He's had wins this week over 15th seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime and  then in the third round, a straight sets win over Stefanos Tsitsipas. He has met Berrettini three times in the past and leads him 2-1. Both his wins have come on clay, so that's a major pointer to how this match may go.

Matteo Berrettini is the eight seed in this tournament and the world number ten. He's due to climb to nine as a result of reaching this semi-final. The Italian is bidding to win his second title in a row. He was the winner of the Belgrade tournament and earlier in the year, reached the final of the ATP Cup playing for Italy. His good start to the year continued with a run to the last sixteen of the Australian Open. However, abdominal pain caused him to withdraw and he didn't play again until last month. This tournament has seen him beat Fabio Fognini, Frederico Delbonis and Cristian Garin. Only in the latter match has he dropped a set. This is a tough match against a rising star.
