Carlisle United vs Horsham Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup

League Two outfit Carlisle United welcome non-league Horsham to Cumbria in the first round of the FA Cup. Both these teams have been struggling this season and are second to last in their respective leagues. Carlisle has just one win in the last ten matches and that was achieved in the EFL Trophy against Everton U21. Horsham have won three of their last ten matches but all those wins have come in the FA Cup Qualifiers. The home team has lost their last two FA Cup home ties 4-3 to Cardiff in Jan.2020 and 2-1 to Doncaster in Nov. 2020.They have not lost three in a row since 1972. Carlisle are facing Horsham for the first time but have progressed against the previous 12 non-league teams they faced. The last time they lost to a non-league team was in 1999.Carlisle has kept just two clean sheets in their last ten matches.

Horsham last played in the main draw of the FA Cup in 2007/2008 season where they reached the second round and were eliminated by Swansea. They took Swansea to a replay after drawing 1-1 at home. This is Horsham’s third ever away match in the main draw and have conceded 15 goals in the previous two losing 9-1 to Notts County and 6-2 to Swansea. They are currently playing in the Isthmian Premier League which is three leagues lower than Carlisle. In any other competition we would say that they don’t have a chance of progressing but that’s the magic of the FA Cup where anything can happen and Horsham have already surprised many by knocking out higher league teams Woking and Eastbourne in the Qualifying rounds. They have kept two clean sheets in their last seven matches and both these came in the FA Cup Qualifiers. Horsham are something of a Cup specialist as they have won four Cup games and in that period they have not had one win in the league.In Carlisle’s last nine matches only on one occasion has both teams scored.
