Cardiff vs Coventry City Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

New Year's Day in the Championship will see Cardiff City and Coventry City lock horns at the Cardiff City Stadium. The Bluebirds are the first side below the dotted line while the Sky Blues are 15th after 24 games. Check out our match prediction below. 

Cardiff City ended 2024 on a much-needed positive note, beating Watford 2-1 thanks to a brace by Callum Robinson on either side of a Giorgi Chakvetadze leveller. 

The victory halted a dismal nine-match winless run for the Bluebirds, during which they suffered six defeats and shipped 18 goals while only scoring eight themselves. 

The hosts now need to try and replicate that performance at home, where they are currently on a four-match losing run and conceded two or more goals in each defeat, while failing to score in their last three. 

Meanwhile, Coventry City played out a goalless draw in their final match of the year, taking them to 28 points, now trailing the top six in the league standings by nine. 

Despite being placed firmly in mid-table, the Sky Blues have fared well in attack this season, currently on 32 goals to date, which is the fifth-most of all teams in the division. 

However, the visitors have found positive results hard to come by on the road this term, having only won two of their 12 away games. They have also conceded two or more goals in four of their last five outings.
