Canada and Norway will face off for the bronze medal at the 2026 IIHF World Championship on Sunday afternoon. Team Canada beat the Polar Bears eariler in this competition and our prediction is that they will come out on top in this one as well.
For a second consecutive year, Canada have underperperformed on expectation, failing to reach the final of the World Championship after losing to Finland 4-2 in the semis.
Team Canada have been led by their skipper Macklin Celebrini, who has racked up 12 points in this competition, evenly split between six goals and seven assists. Dylan Holloway was one of the standout performers in the last match.
That defeat ended Canada’s 10-match win streak in all competitions. However, they have won 16 of their last 17 games against this opponent.
Meanwhile, Norway’s dream run at the 2025 IIHF World Championship came to a disappointing end after losing to Switzerland 6-0 in the semi-finals at the Swiss Life Arena on Saturday night.
The Polar Bears never looked likely to beat the co-hosts. They were down 4-0 after the second period and merely saw out the match as a formality. The Swiss still scored twice in the third period.
Norway have won six and lost four of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Two of the last three matches between these teams have ended level in normal time.

Our Canada vs Norway Prediction
For a second successive year, Canada will not contest for the gold medal of the World Championships, which will be a massive disappointment after winning all eight of their group-stage matches.
Norway were the biggest surprise package of the semi-finalists, but unfortunately, they were unable to see off Finland. The Polar Bears have only won one of their last 17 games against this opponent, and we feel they will lose this one as well. Our Canada vs Norway prediction is Canada -1.5.
