Burnley had a tough return to action in the Premier League, with a 5-0 beating at Manchester City and they will hope for better times when they host Watford in Round 31. The two sides head to this clash separated by 11 points. Burnley are 11th with 39 points and Watford 16th with 28 points. Burnley were completely outplayed by City on Monday and trailing 3-0 at the break, their script was already written. It was not unexpected though for a side that had only won four of 14 away matches before the loss. Being just seven points off a Europa League spot, Burnley may have that in their ambitions and going for a home win would boost that here. They have no win in their last three league matches but are unbeaten in four league matches at home. They have also scored in four of their last five home matches and may look at this as motivation for this clash. Among their last four home matches, they have beaten Leicester City and drawn with Arsenal and Tottenham. They have seven home wins in the 15 matches there.

They had their best run between December and January when they went unbeaten in five matches, winning four, and managed to rise from the bottom. That has somehow evaded them and they are now doing eight matches with just one win in the league. It has been tougher away from home, where they have managed just two wins in 15. They have nine losses in the 15 away league matches and have managed just two clean sheets. They head to this game winless in four away league games.
