At one time Burnley were in the top four and dreaming of playing in the Champions League next season. Two months later they are seventh and 17 points off the top four. However, seventh could qualify Burnley for the Europa League if sides above them win the FA and Carabao Cups. Recent form has been dreadful though with no wins in 11 league and cup games since that night in early December that took them into the top four for 24 hours. They have just one point from their last four home league games but they have been up against each of the sides currently in the top four. Away from home they have failed to get wins in games against four of the sides in the bottom eight, so they are pretty desperate to get a win. Burnley have found it hard to score all season and at home it was only in the 2-0 win over Swansea City that they have managed to score more than in a game. Southampton have had two recent wins away at West Brom in the league and cup but start the weekend in the bottom three one point from safety. They have only won five league games all season and on their travels have only won twice and scored just 12 goals in 12 games and three of those came in the recent win at bottom of the table West Brom that ended a run of nine away league games without a victory. Go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
