Bristol City will seek to take the early advantage to rise into the top six of the Championship, when they meet Burnley. Hosts Burnley are third, two points off the top two while seventh placed Bristol are only separated from the top-six by goal difference. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Burnley will hope to pick up from where they left before the international break. They beat Swansea City 2-0 away from home, and another such result here will take them top of the table.

It is a tight race at the top with three teams pursuing the two automatic promotion spots. A strong defence gives Burnley a slight advantage. They have conceded just five in 19 home league games.

Bristol City, like Burnley, also headed into the international break on a high. They beat Norwich City 2-1 to get within touching distance of the top-six.

Another win here would take their run to eight matches without defeat. That, however, looks very unlikely, in light of their past run against the Clarets.

Liam Manning’s side has suffered eight straight defeats in matches against Burnley and are winless in nine.

It is 14 years since Bristol City last won this fixture. As much as they would like to change that, the Robins have only one win in their last 11 away matches.
