Burkina Faso got it right in their second game of the ongoing African Nations Championships, beating Zimbabwe 3-1 after their opening loss to Mali. They are now faced with another must-win encounter in Group A, when they meet hosts Cameroon. A loss for Burkina Faso will mean for yet another appearance at this competition, they fail to get out of the group stages. In the 2018 edition, they landed in the same group as Cameroon and the clash ended 1-1. This time they are not only looking to shock the hosts, but also improve on a run that has seen them win just three of the last 14 matches in this competition.

Cameroon, meanwhile, go to this game unbeaten in eight matches, and having lost once in the last 15 matches. They are a formidable force when with their foreign based players but can they finally win a continental title without them? That is the big question as they make their fourth appearance at this competition. In the earlier three, they got two the quarter finals twice. The hosts have scored in both their opening matches at the tournament, with Salomon Banga getting both goals. They beat Zimbabwe 1-0 in the opening game and drew 1-1 with Mali in the second which means with another draw, they will be through to the next stage. Their last seven CHAN matches, qualifiers and at final tournaments, haven’t produced over 2.5 goals and Cameroon haven’t conceded more than a goal in the seven matches.
