Bulgaria vs Montenegro Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro

Bulgaria are looking to qualify for their first major tournament since Euro 2004 and will start their Euro 2024 qualification with a home match against Montenegro. This Group G match will be played at the Huvepharma Arena in Razgrad on Friday. It has been years of hurt for the Bulgarians who haven’t qualified for any Euros since 2004. Even going back in time, they have only played the main tournament just twice since 1960, so this has been one competition that eluded them. With the group also consisting of Hungary, Serbia and Lithuania, losing here will make qualification that much difficult. At least on recent form, the home fans can start dreaming as they haven’t lost for six matches in a row, winning and drawing three each. They may need that form to override what has been a poor recent record in the Euro qualifiers. Bulgaria have won only one of their last nine Euro qualifiers, drawing three and losing five.

Montenegro go hand-in-hand with their hosts in terms of their form in this competition, winless in their last ten Euro qualifiers. That includes three draws and seven losses including a 7-0 hammering at the hands of England when they last played a Euro qualifier. Even their recent form suggests they have struggled for results with three losses and a draw from their last four matches including friendlies. Yet, they have drawn four of their six historical matches against Bulgaria including two draws in the last European qualifying campaign.
