Bulgaria will host Lithuania in a Group G clash in the Euro 2024 qualifiers this Saturday. With a better goal difference, Bulgaria are fourth in the group and Lithuania fifth. Both sides have two points and realistically, are out of contention for slots at Euro 2024. However, for either side, this is a perfect chance to go for a first win in the group. Hosts Bulgaria have failed to win any of their last seven matches. Here they will be seeking a first win in 2023. In their meeting with Lithuania in June, the two nations drew 1-1. Coming into this game, Bulgaria suffered a 2-1 loss away to Montenegro. That was their second straight loss, after falling 1-0 to Iran in a friendly match earlier. The hosts’ form in defence has also left a lot to desire, having failed to keep a clean sheet in six straight games.

Like Bulgaria, Lithuania too haven't won a game in 2023. Their last win dates back to March 2022, a 2-1 victory over San Marino. They scored first against Bulgaria in their June meeting but would fail to hold on. Justas Lasickas was sent off right after Edvinas Girdvainis’ opener and Marin Petkov leveled to deny Lithuania a win then. Gytis Paulaskas has scored in their last two matches but his best hasn’t been enough for Lithuania. They suffered a 3-1 loss to Serbia at home in their last game. That defeat made it 15 matches without a win for Lithuania. They have drawn five times in the last 10 matches but come into this game unbeaten in the last two against Bulgaria. Before their 1-1 draw in this group, they had beaten Bulgaria 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier.
