The second leg in the Champions League playoffs will see Young Boys play host to Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday. The score is still level following a 0-0 draw in the first leg. The winner of this tie will go on to feature in the group stages of the 2023-24 Champions League. Young Boys returned to the top of the Swiss Super League last season after a third-placed finish in 2021-22. The hosts recorded 74 points in their 36 matches and ended 14 points clear of Servette in second place. They have begun this season strongly, unbeaten in their first four league matches, which leaves them in third place in the early stages. YB failed to qualify for the Conference League last season as they were beaten by Anderlecht 3-1 in the playoff round. However, with home-ground advantage, the hosts are the clear favourites to qualify for the next round. 

Perennial Israeli Premier League champions Maccabi Haifa secured their third consecutive league title last season. They ended the league playoffs with 81 points, seven clear of H. Beer Sheva in second place. Maccabi Haifa overcame Hamrun Spartans 6-1 in the first round of these qualifiers. They then beat Sheriff 4-2 on aggregate in round two and defeated Slovan Bratislava 5-2 on aggregate in the last round. The visitors finished at the bottom of their group in the Champions League last season with three points in six matches. Despite being the dominant side in the first leg at home against this opposition, the visitors are the outsiders to win this tie, according to the bookies.
