Matchday 40 in the English Championship sees eighth-place Bristol City hosting ninth-placed Watford. The full three points is vital as both the Robins and the Hornets seek a spot in the promotion playoffs. Read on for our match prediction! 

Bristol have lost ground in the race for the promotion playoff spots following a run of only one win in their last four games. Most recently, they saw a seven-game unbeaten run come to a halt after losing 1-0 away from home to Burnley.

The Robins will now attempt to bounce back on home soil where they’ve racked up an impressive 10-6-3 record on the season. The hosts sit even on points with sixth-place West Brom at 57 and are trailing only on goal differential.

For Watford, a win here would thrust them right back into contention for a spot in the top six. They trail their opponents today by four points, leaving them with some ground to make up in the final seven fixtures of the league campaign.
