by Steve Ashfield in Championship Predictions
EIghth-placed Bristol City can move into the top six if they beat Middlesbrough at home on Friday. Their opponents are 11th in the Championship but will go ahead of City if they win this match. Can Boro end a poor run of form? Read our match prediction.
Bristol City are only two points behind West Brom who are sixth and that's the final promotion play-off position. The Robins drew 1-1 at Cardiff City last weekend, conceding a 90th minute equalizer.
Only one of their last six league games has been lost. At home, City have won six of their last eight home league games with only Swansea City beating them. This run has taken the total number of home league victories to eight with three defeats.
It's been a terrible month for Middlesbrough who have lost their last four league fixtures. The weekend saw them beaten 1-0 at home by Watford. Three of their next four Championship matches are away from home.
Another loss could easily see Michael Carrick replaced as coach. Boro are still only four points adrift of the play-off position so all is not lost yet. Their last three away league matches have been lost and we tip Bristol City to win.

Our Bristol City vs Middlesbrough Prediction
Bristol City are proving to be a difficult team to beat on home soil. They have won six of their last eight home league fixtures and kept a clean sheet in five of those matches. A win here takes them into the top six.
Middlesbrough would probably be glad with a draw from this match. At least that would halt a run of four successive league defeats. It won't be easy though with City in such good form. Our Bristol City v Middlesbrough prediction is Bristol City to win.
