Two promotion contenders meet at Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday when Bristol City welcome Fulham to the pitch. Fulham are the more obvious candidates to return to the Premier League next season, given that they're second in the table, two points behind leaders Bournemouth. Bristol, ninth, are outsiders. Away from home, they have been superb, winning three of their four road fixtures. It is on their turf where problems regularly occur, resulting in Bristol failing to win 12 of their last 14 home games in the Championship. A failure to correct this form will probably scupper any chance of going up at the season's end. Their record is unlikely to improve against Fulham, a team Bristol failed to beat in their previous four home encounters. Fulham have also won three of their four away fixtures and are the highest away scorers in the division (11). 

There isn't doubt as to which team is in better overall form coming into this fixture. Bristol are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning twice, while Fulham lost three of their most recent four games. One of those was on penalties against Leeds in the League Cup, but it still counts. Bristol are also unbeaten in their last four meetings with Fulham, winning twice at Craven Cottage.
