After a fine, unbeaten start to the league, Chelsea have shown signs of struggling in the recent times, registering four winless outings in their last seven matches – two losses and two draws – in all matches that were considered winnable for The Blues. Their recent losses to Tottenham and Wolves have left them eight points off league leaders Liverpool but after resting a number of key players for the Thursday game, they will be fresh and ready to continue with the job after seeing off Manchester City last weekend. They are the third best defensive side in the league this season, having conceded 13 in 16 matches and averagely scoring twice per game in the league; to face a side that have netted just 19 in the league will place The Blues as favorites in this clash but that is not all they will be looking at – after losing back to back away matches in the Premier League, they will definitely come out fighting and we don’t doubt their scoring prowess away from home, having failed to score in just one of their seven away matches in the league, and that was in a tough London derby, against West Ham United.  Brighton, on the other hand, are smarting from a shock loss at the hands of Burnley in their last match, which ended their two – game winning run. Brighton have conceded in each of their last six matches but with six wins in the season, you get the feeling they can give Chelsea a run for their money. They are unbeaten in their last four home matches in the league, picking three wins and a draw, while they have scored in each of the seven home league matches this season, and in the last 10, stretching back to last season. In their last 10 home league matches, Brighton have lost just one but they have kept only three clean sheets.
