Defending champions Dinamo Brest have made an inconsistent start to the new Belarus Premier League and are tenth in the table. They are only three points off the league leaders though and look to get a home win over 13th placed Shakhtyor.  Brest began the season with four points from their first two games, including a 1-0 win at FC Slutsk, who are the current league leaders. Their unbeaten league record disappeared when losing 2-1 at home to Slavia Mozyr but got back into winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Isloch Minsk at home. Their most recent game was a 1-0 loss at Vitebsk, a tough encounter that saw them have two players sent off and lose to an 87th minute penalty. Only one of their last 11 home league games have been lost, so this won't be an easy game at all for their opponents. They know that already though, having lost 2-0 at Brest in the first leg of their Belarus Cup semi-final. The two sides face each other again in their next game in the second leg of that tie.

Shakhtyor are two points behind their opponents and struggling for form. They began their season with a 1-0 home loss to Zhodino but then earned five points from their next three matches. The only win came away at Gorodeja and that was followed by two goalless draws with Neman Grodno and Smolevichi, both currently in the bottom three. Their last outing saw them lose 2-1 at home to FC Slutsk. They did get on the scoresheet but it was an own goal and also missed a second half penalty. With them struggling for goals and points, the tip here is for a Dinamo Brest home win.
