Straight after the impressive 0-0 draw with Lille, Brest have another top clash in Ligue 1, when they host Olympique Lyonnais. Brest are placed 12th with 31 points on the league table while third placed Lyon have 52 points. In their last match, Brest managed to keep out league leaders Lille, to register their fourth straight unbeaten match. For the mid table side, that was a massive result and it came with their first clean sheet in eight matches and only the second in 14 games. Both sides have scored in four of Brest’s last five matches and the four matches have each yielded over 2.5 goals. Brest have been impressive in attack, registering at least two goals in four of their last five matches and are unbeaten in three league matches. However, they have just one win, and four losses in their last seven league matches. Ten of Brest’s last 12 Ligue 1 matches at home have produced over 2.5 goals, with both sides scoring in nine of them and only two of the 12 seeing the team keep clean sheets.

Lyon, on their part, suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Montpellier putting a major hiccup on their title hopes. That loss saw Lyon drop by a place, to third in the standings. It was Montpellier’s second win over Lyon in the season and kept Lyon’s tally at over 2.5 goals in four of five matches. They have two clean sheets in the last five matches and both sides have scored in the remaining three. Lyon have in the last 10 league matches won seven, scored two or more in seven and lost just two. The loss to Montpellier in the first meeting of the season remains the team’s only away defeat this season. They go to this game unbeaten in 10 away league matches, where they’ve won seven and drawn three.
