Two of the favourites to get promoted to the Premier League this season meet in the Championship at the weekend when Bournemouth host Norwich at Dean Court. Both clubs were relegated from the top flight last season and each club has begun this campaign by taking four points from their opening two games. Bournemouth (fourth in the table) kicked off their return to the second tier with a 3-2 home win over Blackburn Rovers before following it up with a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough. Norwich followed a similar pattern, winning their first game 1-0 at Huddersfield before drawing 2-2 at home to Preston North End. The Canaries edged the head-to-head league encounters between the clubs last season, winning their home fixture 1-0 and securing a goalless draw away. While those games lacked big numbers in the scoreline, the previous four clashes between the sides produced at least three goals. Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last three home games against Norwich, winning twice.

Norwich had the worst away record in the Premier League last season, losing 15 and only winning one of the 19 away games. As their demotion to a lower division insinuates, Bournemouth didn't have an exceptional record at home last season either. In fact, only Norwich picked up fewer points at home than the Cherries. The teams are evenly matched with any statistical supremacy taken from this season's matches being marginal as well as from a small sample size.
