Tip Borussia Dortmund - Sevilla

After three straight clean sheets, Borussia Dortmund’s defensive frailties were exposed in a 4-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Saturday Bundesliga game at Allianz Arena. Having let go of a 2-0 lead in the heavy loss, Dortmund will be hoping they don’t crumble like that again when they host Sevilla in the Champions League last 16 return leg clash. Dortmund lead 3-2 from the first leg and will bank heavily on Erling Haaland for goals, having scored six in the last five matches. The loss to Bayern was Dortmund’s only defeat in the last six matches and they’re unbeaten in six Champions League games. They’ve scored two or more goals in five of their last six Champions League matches and in their last three, both sides have scored. In Dortmund’s last 10 Champions League matches, they’ve lost just twice and seven of the 10 have produced over 2.5 goals. Meanwhile, they’re unbeaten in their last seven home matches in this competition.

Sevilla on the other hand, haven’t had it much smoother in the last few matches. In the last week, they’ve been eliminated from the Copa del Rey and a loss to Elche in La Liga has left them 10 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid. They’ve suffered four defeats in the last five matches and will be trying not to get eliminated in a second competition in as many weeks. That will not be easy though, looking at the Spaniards’ defensive form and the attacking returns the hosts have posted lately. They’ve failed to score in two of their last three matches while in their last game, they could only get a last minute consolation as they lost 2-1 to Elche. In the Champions League though, Sevilla have a much healthier run; they’ve gone unbeaten in the last six away matches in the competition, though they have just four wins in 11.
