Blackburn Rovers still have an outside chance of making it into the Championship play-off places. After the latest set of games, they are in ninth place and face a tough game home to West Bromwich Albion whowent top of the table after winning on Wednesday. Blackburn had a good win in midweek when getting an away win at sixth-placed Cardiff City. They trailed 1-0 and 2-1 but two second half goals clinched the three points for them. That leaves them five points behind Cardiff with four games remaining. It was a welcome win for Rovers as they had lost their previous three league matches conceding seven goals. Home form has seen Blackburn only lose one of the last five in the Championship. That was to league leaders Leeds United last weekend. The last three home league games have all see over 2.5 goals scored and both teams score.

West Bromwich Albion took another step towards a return to the Premier League on Wednesday. They beat Derby County 2-0 to go two points clear at the top of the Championship. Second placed Leeds play on Thursday and a win over Stoke City will see them regain their lead. Albion have a five point lead over third placed Brentford with four games remaining. The win over Derby was their third league victory in a row with nine goals scored. The four games played before that had produced no wins and not a single goal scored. They have regained their form just at the right moment and promotion is looking very likely.  West Brom have won 12 away league games this season, more than any other side in the Championship. 13 of their away league fixtures have seen over 2.5 goals scored in them, including three of the last five. They are back in top form and can get another vital win here.
