Lorenzo Sonego is one of the outsiders in the fourth round at Wimbledon. He will be up against 10th seed Ben Shelton, the two facing off for the fifth time. The winner here will meet Jannik Sinner or Grigor Dimitrov. Let’s have a look at the match prediction.

Shelton has risen well after his earlier struggles on grass. Entering Wimbledon as a top 10 player for the first time, Shelton hasn’t disappointed. The American has beaten Alex Bolt, Rinky Hijikata, and Marton Fucsovics, all in straight sets, conserving energy for challenging duels.

Each of the last three meetings between these two was at the Grand Slam level. This is already their third meeting this year, having clashed at the Australian and French Opens.

Sonego has the chance to avenge his two defeats at majors this year. The Italian just failed to manage well his latest one, after leading 2-1 at the French Open to lose 3-2.

To achieve his target here, Sonego must improve on his performances against top 10 players. Across the last 12 months, the Italian has faced three top 10 players and lost to all.

That sent his record against such players to 6-33, and could have him psychologically disadvantaged. Sonego hasn’t met a notable opponent so far.

He however, had a remarkable match last time out, coming from down to beat Brandon Nakashima 3-2 in a five-hour thriller.
