UFC 315 takes us to the Bell Centre in Montreal this weekend, where the headline matchup will see Belal Muhammad defending his welterweight title against Jack Della Maddalena. The champion has a professional record of 24-3-0, 1NC, while JDM is 17-2-0. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Belal Muhammad is set to return to the Octagon to defend his UFC welterweight title for the first time after beating Leon Edwards by unanimous decision at UFC 304 in Manchester.
Not only did that win earn him the title, but it was also Belal ‘Remember the Name’s’ sixth victory in a row and 11th match unbeaten dating back to January 2019 against Geoff Neal.
While Muhammad has often been labelled as a boring fighter due to his heavy wrestling style, nobody has been able to stop him in six years, including the likes of Gilbert Burns and Sean Brady.
Meanwhile, Jack Della Maddalena will be looking to make the most of his shot at the title this weekend, which he received owing to Shavkat Rakhmonov pulling out of this fight due to injury.
However, the Aussie is entering this match following a KO/TKO victory over Burns in his last fight, which took him to seven straight wins in the UFC and 17 in a row dating back to 2016.
Of those 17 wins, Maddalena has secured 12 by way of KO/TKO. While he is widely considered a striker, JDM showed his ability to handle grappling threats against Burns and will likely need to do so again this weekend.
