There was little opposition to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season as they finished 21 points at the top of the table and now they bid for the league and cup double. Their last win in this competition was in 2016 and are chasing their 19th German Cup triumph. They have scored 20 goals in the five games needed to reach this final and hit six in both of the last two rounds and both of those were played away from home against Paderborn and Bayer Leverkusen. Their only struggle was away at Leipzig drawing 1-1 and winning on penalties. Munich lost their final game of the season 4-1 at home to Stuttgart but will hopefully be back on form for this game as they take on a side who they recently beat 4-1.

Eintracht Frankfurt lost in the final of this competition last year going down 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund. They have won this trophy four times but not since 1988 and lost to Bayern in the 2006 final. Frankfurt finished eighth in the Bundesliga missing out on Europa League qualification by four points. Their end of season form wasn't at all good with three defeats in their last four matches with the only win being over relegated Hamburg. Away form was a total mess as they lost their last seven away league games. A win over Bayern will get them European football next season and they haven't had the hardest of routes to the final. They only faced one top division team but that did produce a 1-0 win at Schalke. This looks booked for a Bayern Munich win, go for them to be ahead at both half and full time.
