Both Bayern Munich and Ajax won their opening fixtures in this Champions League group. It's actually Ajax who top the group after their 3-0 win over AEK Athens but they face a tough task here as they travel to Germany to take on Bayern. The German side have only lost three of their last 26 home games in the Champions League  going back to 2013 and each of that trio of defeats were by Real Madrid who knocked them out of last year's competition. Last season saw them win four, draw one and lose one in Champions League games scoring 15 goals, They come into this match on a run of two games without a win and lost 2-0 at Hertha Berlin at the weekend and they are currently second in the Bundesliga. They kicked this season's Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win at Benfica and will look to make it two wins out of two here.

Ajax are also second in their domestic league but five points behind leaders PSV. While the league leaders suffered a heavy defeat at Barcelona in their opening Champions League group match, Ajex were beating AEK Athens 3-0 with three second-half goals including two from Tagliafico. Since that game they lost 3-0 away at PSV, won a Dutch Cup tie 7-0 away and beat Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch league. The Dutch side had to qualify to get into the group stages and have had a couple of disappointing seasons in Europe since losing in the final of the Europa League to Manchester United. They have only won two of their last 17 Champions League away games with just one win in the last five. The suggested tip here is for a Bayern Munich home win, leading at both half and full time.
