We may get a clearer idea of who will feature in the Bundesliga title race after Bayer Leverkusen host Borussia Monchengladbach at the Bay Arena on Saturday. The two sides are neck and neck in the table with Leverkusen fourth, a point ahead of Gladbach in fifth. Leverkusen's 12 points from six matches puts them three points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Gladbach, who finished in the top four last term, have shown that they can mix it up with Europe's elite in impressive Champions League displays. They came within whiskers of beating both Inter Milan and Real Madrid before correcting a bad habit of throwing away leads against Shakhtar Donetsk, who they battered 6-0 in Ukraine. These have been featured results on an eight-game unbeaten streak in all competitions. Another standout result from that run was last weekend's 1-0 home win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Away from home, Gladbach are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions, scoring at least two goals in every fixture.

Leverkusen come into this game on the back of consecutive 4-2 away wins, against Freiburg and Hapoel Be'er Sheva respectively. They have been among the goals lately after a slow start to their league campaign. Their opening four matches featured fewer than three goals but the following two featured at least four. Leverkusen have been doing much of the scoring with six against Nice, three against Augsburg and the set of four-goal wins previously mentioned. Their home form has been good with five wins in their last seven matches. One of the defeats in those matches was to Bayern as well, a fixture so difficult it is almost becoming a write-off. The last four meetings between Leverkusen and Gladbach ended with the away team victorious, Gladbach twice taking that honour. Three of those four matches featured at least three goals. We lean towards a Gladbach win here. Back them draw no bet.
