Bayer Leverkusen hosts FC Porto in one of the top-drawer clashes as the Europa League enters the knockouts, with both teams going to this game in good form. Leverkusen are on three straight wins though they have conceded in each of the last four matches. With six wins in their last seven matches, and playing at home, they will feel capable of handling the Portuguese giants. Porto are in fine form too; just like Leverkusen, they have three straight wins going to the game. They have an edge though in the fact that they are unbeaten in their last six matches. Leverkusen dropped from the Champions League after finishing third in a group that had Atletico Madrid and Juventus – quite strong opposition – and having managed two wins in the group, they hope to do better here. Porto won three of their six games at the group stage but conceding more than they scored and losing away to Rangers and Feyenoord left questions about their defensive capabilities, which they will need to tackle here. Porto head to this match on no clean sheet in their last nine Europa League matches. While they go to this game on a fine run, they have managed just two clean sheets in their last 13 matches. They have failed to score in just one of their last 15 matches and have two or more goals in four of their last five matches. They have lost just one in the last 11 away matches but will really be concerned with their away form in Europa League, having won just once in their last nine away matches in the competition. They failed to score in two of the three at the group stages, in each conceding twice. With no clean sheet in 10 away matches in the competition, this doesn’t look so good for them.
